Jo has been practicing as a medical herbalist for over 20 years - she began her career as one of the first practitioners at the Herbal Dispensary in Christchurch. Since 1996 Jo has been running a busy clinic specialising in (but not limited to) male and female reproductive health (including support through the 'peri' and menopausal years), fertility issues, preconception health care and teaching natural methods for contraception or conception.  Other areas of interest include autoimmune conditions, thyroid and adrenal health (and fatigue), supporting wellness and proactive health choices in teens, digestive and gut health. 

Prior to her career as a medical herbalist she completed a Pharmacy degree at Otago University.  Jo has found that while no longer practicing as a Pharmacist the background knowledge of drugs, the way they work and their side effects and interactions has been invaluable in her work.  She favours an integrative approach and is very happy to work alongside of other practitioners to offer her clients the best possible outcomes.  

She is a smartDNA practitioner so offers genomic testing for those interested in specific strategies for current conditions (including fertility issues) or long term health, wellbeing and healthy aging.

She has recently joined the executive committee of Fertility New Zealand and hopes here to make those struggling to create the family they wish for, more aware of their choices and how an integrated approach can help overcome their fertility obstacles. She has a strong desire to help couples become parents and see those healthy families thrive.
